About Pratt

PRATT INDUSTRIES

Pratt was founded in the USA some 30 years ago and, since then, has shown dramatic growth with sophisticated manufacturing facilities in more than 25 states.

The Georgia-based company operates an extensive Recycling Company to supply five of the most modern, cost-effective 100% recycled paper mills in the country – at our Conyers campus in Ga., New York City, Valparaiso, In., Shreveport, La., and our most recent in Wapakoneta, Oh.

The company is dedicated to the sustainability of the environment, its customers and its people. The cornerstone of Pratt’s mission is to protect and nurture the planet’s natural resources while reducing our impact on the environment by “Harvesting the Urban Forest.” By doing so the company also seeks to help its customers meet their environmental goals.

Pratt has been honored by environmental leaders such as former Vice President Al Gore, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, Ted Turner, the Climate Group and Global Green for spreading the word that recycling is an important weapon against climate change.

Anthony Pratt

Global Chairman

Anthony Pratt is the Executive Global Chairman of Pratt Industries / Visy, which together form the world’s largest privately-owned packaging, paper and recycling company.

The group employs more than 10,000 people in the USA and a further 5,000 in Australasia at more than 200 factories and sites. Annual sales exceed $6 billion U.S combined.

Pratt has grown from America’s 45th biggest corrugated producer to the 5th, and in 2016 Anthony was named the “North American Packaging CEO of the Year” by a prestigious industry association.

In 2020, he was again acknowledged by his peers when he was honored with PaperAge’s “Executive Papermaker of the Year” award.

Anthony graduated from Monash University, Melbourne, with a Bachelor of Economics (Hons) in 1983. After graduation, he joined the consulting firm of McKinsey & Co, before joining Visy.

In 1991, he moved to the United States to spearhead the family’s business expansion into America, where he built Pratt Industries into a billion-dollar company, which now employs more US citizens than any other Australian company.

In May 2017, he pledged to invest a further $2 billion in American manufacturing and job creation over the next 10 years.

Anthony is also a recognized environmental leader and global food security advocate who each year sponsors the influential Global Food Forum in the USA in partnership with the Wall Street Journal.

Anthony is also a leading philanthropist. Over the years, the family’s Pratt Foundation has donated hundreds of millions of dollars to charities in more than 20 countries and in 2018 announced he would give away another $1 billion in his lifetime. Anthony divides his time between Melbourne and New York City.

Philanthropy

PHILANTHROPY

Pratt Industries believes in giving back to the community – whether to neighbors next door or strangers on the other side of the world. Since the company first came to America more than 30 years ago, Pratt has donated money, time, resources and manpower to a myriad of charities, environmental groups and relief organizations, from funding programs to educate less fortunate children here at home, to providing much-needed supplies for the victims of natural disasters from Haiti to Pakistan to the Midwest, or helping to find a cure for AIDS.

It’s a tradition begun by Pratt’s late worldwide chairman Richard Pratt and continued by his family. The Pratt Foundation has given away hundreds of millions of dollars since its inception in 1978 and the company is proud to continue that tradition here in the United States.

Pratt is also proud that its employees, too, have backed many of these philanthropic endeavors, raising money for causes large and small, and donating their time to help both stranger and neighbor. They are also committed to the communities in which they live and work.

Pratt Industries realizes it’s a great privilege to be involved in activities which are aimed at enriching others’ lives. The company supports a wide range of charitable causes – and encourages others to do what they can to help those in need.
